    Amrita Pritam ([əm.mɾɪt̪ɑːpɾiːt̪əm]; 31 August &#;– 31 October ) was an Indian novelist, essayist and poet, who wrote in Punjabi and Hindi.[1] A prominent figure in Punjabi literature, she is the recipient of the Sa
