Janani Iyer was born on 31 March 1987 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is also called by the name ‘Janu’.

She attended D.A.V. Boys Senior Secondary School, Gopalapuram, Chennai and did her Engineering in Computer Science from Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She wanted to become an actress since the age of 4.

Following her passion, she started giving auditions in order to become a successful model and actress.
